There are two possible powertrains available to the 2022 Jeep Gladiator lineup, each of which help this truck achieve all of its rugged capabilities! For all 9 of the Gladiator’s available models, the standard powertrain consists of a 3.6-liter Pentastar engine mated to your choice of either the standard 6-speed manual transmission, or the available 8-speed automatic transmission. All in all, this powertrain will deliver the Gladiator 285 horsepower, and 260 lb-ft of torque. If you’re looking to maximize your truck’s torque output, however, then you should consider the available 3.0-liter diesel V6, which pumps out 260 horsepower and a whopping 442 lb-ft of torque. This engine pairs exclusively with the manual transmission, and is an available option for any model besides the Mojave. One thing that all Gladiators have in common is their standard 4-wheel drive, with a two-speed high/low transfer case. When properly equipped, the Gladiator can tow up to 7,650 pounds, and carry up to 1,200 pounds in its truck bed. There are also two specialty off-road trims, the Rubicon and the Mojave, for those who want to take their adventures to the next level. These models will come with extra equipment like all-terrain tires, FOX shock absorbers, skid plates, and more!
What Features does the 2022 Gladiator Provide?
The Gladiator is the only pickup truck on the market that provides Jeep’s signature removable roof and doors, as well as a fold-flat windshield. Plus, 2022 Gladiators now provide an available “adventure-proof” windshield, made from Corning Gorilla Glass. This is a durable yet lightweight glass that’s specially designed to withstand wear and tear without chipping or cracking. Inside, the Gladiator seats up to five passengers, with a 60/40 folding rear-seat bench so that you can fit more cargo inside. You can even opt for the available Lockable Rear Seat Storage, which will afford you an extra storage bin to keep your items stowed. In the rear, every Gladiator has a five-foot bed with a unique multi-function tailgate which you can position halfway closed, in order to fit longer cargo. Other features include the iconic Jeep seven-slot grille, round headlamps, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Upper trim levels like the Overland also offer available leather-trimmed seats for a more upscale look and feel, while the Rubicon and Mojave have distinctive hood decals for a bolder, more athletic appearance.
